Audi Q8 2023–2024: side airbag incorrectly mounted inside the seat

Driver-seatback checks, a bag deploying outside its intended position and conditional reinstallation.

How the defect was found and checked

The supplier found the issue in a production airbag test in November 2023. 69GA checks installation inside the driver’s backrest. The document names no warning signs; no indication alone is not a physical mounting inspection.

Applicability and the full analysis

Repair: correct installation, not automatic replacement

The dated remedy correctly reinstalls the airbag if necessary following inspection. It prescribes no part replacement. A new-airbag invoice therefore proves neither an original mounting defect nor completion of 69GA.
