What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The air bags did not deploy. No police report was filed. The contact's vehicle sustained minor damage, while the other vehicle did not sustain damage. There was no warning light illuminated. There were no reported injuries. Both vehicles were drivable after the incident.
The contact mentioned the seat belt did not retract. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was filed. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
Given the intensity of the collision and the resulting damage, I’m concerned that none of my airbags did not deploy, despite the damage being substantial. In light of this information and my vehicle being totaled loss, I have a few additional follow-up questions: 1.
When pulling into a parking space with foot on the brake the engine revs and surges forward. This has happened 2 times over the course of 2 years with out damage or personal injury. Twice in the last month.
The seatbelt never locked and my airbag never deployed, causing me to go headfirst into my wheel and followed my chest. I was escorted to the hospital due to those injures. I was never notified of a recall from either dealership, which they have failed me because there was nothing there to support my body.
The air bags did not deploy. The contact experienced back pain, dizziness, headache, and panic attacks. The contact received medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and then to the dealer, where it was deemed totaled by the insurance company.
