What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The trim on both sides of the front seats is loose and broken, I am concerned that the airbag won't deploy properly if not addressed by audi. The dealership wants $2700 to fix this issue. I have contacted audi customer care and they have advised that it is customer pay due to being outside the warranty period.
Driver seat: the plastic housing on both sides of the driver's seat, near the headrest, have popped open and pulled away from the seat. The is the area where the side airbags are stored and deploy from during a collision.
What to check before buying
- Air bags. Check the SRS light, stored codes and airbag/curtain status after any impact.
- Seats. Occupant sensor, power adjustment, seat mounts.
- Electrical system. Scan all modules, test the battery and alternator, inspect connectors near the impact zone.
- Structure. Rails, pillars, panel gaps, signs of pulling or welding.
