What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
My son's car was hit by this Buick while he was making a right turn. The driver of the Buick was not paying attention and thought he had already turned. She accelerated into him and AEB did not prevent it. We are not sure why this Buick's ADAS failed. It is not our car, but that of the person who hit us.
This is a brand-new vehicle and a brake failure of this magnitude should never happen — let alone within the first month of ownership. GM/Buick has offered to repair the car but not replace it, and I was informed I do not qualify for lemon law because this has only occurred once.
The contact stated that while driving 5 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed, and the engine seized. The vehicle was coasted to the shoulder of the roadway. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle started. The vehicle was driven to the residence.
The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the radio screen went black. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The dealer was contacted, and an appointment was scheduled. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.
The contact stated that while driving 75 MPH on the highway, the instrument panel and infotainment screen went blank, preventing the contact from monitoring the speedometer.
The contact stated that during the failure the speedometer and fuel gauges were inoperable. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. Additionally, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light remained illuminated.
