What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
My son's car was hit by this Buick while he was making a right turn. The driver of the Buick was not paying attention and thought he had already turned. She accelerated into him and AEB did not prevent it. We are not sure why this Buick's ADAS failed. It is not our car, but that of the person who hit us.
The contact stated that while driving 5 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed, and the engine seized. The vehicle was coasted to the shoulder of the roadway. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle started. The vehicle was driven to the residence.
The contact stated that while driving 75 MPH on the highway, the instrument panel and infotainment screen went blank, preventing the contact from monitoring the speedometer.
The contact stated that during the failure the speedometer and fuel gauges were inoperable. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. Additionally, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light remained illuminated.
Vehicle has stalled when moving slowly and making a turn or slight turn. In all cases, the engine shuts off, all displays (instrument cluster and infotainment display) go black, and power accessories such as windows, radio, ac are all off. No warnings or service lights have appeared in the instrument cluster.
Not even two hours later, im driving my car and its 14 degrees, the car shakes, and I get an emergency shut off immediately nowessage on the screen. As soon as I got pulled over, the place it happened, all my oil just rapidly leaked out.
Needed to jack up the car to change the tire. There is a Jack included with the car. Upon using it in the correct spot in accordance with the owners manual, the Jack began to significantly bend while trying to raise the car to change the tire! It looked so unsafe that we abandoned the tire change.
The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine seized. The contact allowed the vehicle to sit for about an hour. The contact stated that while attempting to restart the vehicle, the vehicle started with the check engine warning light illuminated.
