What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The contact was waiting for a response from the manufacturer concerning the recall and to investigate why the air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained whiplash, but did not require medical attention. The approximate failure mileage was 54,000.
The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed and there were no injuries reported. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 94,000.
There is now a warning light on my dash info center. I got that info from the ins adjuster who called to let me know the truck is going to be repaired. My concern is that why didn't my air bags deploy??? I have been doing some reading and there seams to be a major issue with gm's avalanche models and air bag issues.
Stabilitrak and traction control warning messages frequently display and cause harsh shifting and reduced power. Vehicle may be stationary or driven.
1.vehicle stabilitrak light comes on, all the dash board lights goes on and off, the needles are going wild and then nothing. The vehicle still drives normal. 2.the clock will not keep regular time even when reset many times. 3.the drives side rear speaker will not come on.
After a weekend of camping (rv) my avalanche would not start, battery less than one year old. The rpm $ mph were moving up & down, clicking sounds were coming from the front seat arm rests, no power to the windows & locks. Vehicle was parked & both the avalanche & rv had to be towed.
The currant tires are cracking on sidewalks and between tire tread. See attached pictures. All four tires. I have taken it to two tire shops here in dayton ohio. They both told me that I should do something about it. I've called michelin corporate offices and the are offering me 60% off my tires.
I contacted the dealership regarding this issue, and they replied that this amount of oil consumption would be considered normal. Between 85,000 and 135,000 miles I have replaced spark plugs twice. In each instance the plugs were fouled and wet with oil.
