What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The contact stated that the brakes failed and caused the contact to crash into the rear of another vehicle. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to a mechanic and was told that the support for the brake line was rusted and the pressure caused the brake line to rupture. The vehicle was repaired.
We have had an ongoing problem with the fuel filler "neck" on this vehicle. When you fill the vehicle up with fuel, once it is almost full, the gasoline tank "belches" (for lack of a better term) and fuel is expelled from the tank all over the person filling the vehicle (unless you stand appx.
Seat belts on both front seats are poorly placed and cause the seat belt to lay across the neck of the driver and front seat passenger. This has also caused excessive wear on the belts to the point of being frayed. In an accident, it appears that severe neck injury would occur due to their placement.
Front suspension rusted through, causing the driver's side front wheel to collapse, and could have caused loss of control. Please provide further information.
In addition the seat belts aren't long enough to secure their driver. Also, the fuses in the electrical system started failing.
Looked in rear mirror, noticed smoke , looked under van saw flames, no machanical problems, damage to van incluedes interior front half of van
While applying brakes there was no pressure on first attempt, then released pedal and tried again and pressure had returned. Cause unknown.
Replaced leaking seal/oil pan gasket/heater core. Also replaced serpentine belt.
