What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
Tire size 75r16, bridgestone v-steel rb215, is the branded and exact tire on the truck when on 05/23/2026 driving normally down a las vegas rural one-way neighborhood street I was driving down the one-way street (7200 pirates cove) where there are parked vehicles along the sides of street from residents etc.....
The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. An unknown injury was sustained to the driver of the other vehicle, which required medical attention. The vehicle was towed to approved auto ([address], plaistow, [ZIP]) where a diagnostic test was not performed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure.
The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a salvage yard where it was deemed destroyed. The manufacturer stated that the crash did not fit the qualifications for air bag deployment.
Complete 100% brake failure, no brakes whatsoever. Due to brake line corrosion. Crash occurred. Luckily, no one was injured. Truck had recently been in for routine maintenance and inspection 3 months prior. Dealer service dept.
Inspection by the insurance adjuster and the body shop showed the brake lines completely rusted out. The truck passed state inspection the day before. An internet search show that this was a safety problem (rusting) which gm convinced the nhsta was not a defect and did not need a recall.
The contact stated that while driving into a parking space, the vehicle suddenly experienced unintended acceleration and surged forward. The vehicle crashed into a pile of brick boulders. The driver suffered injuries to the back shoulders, and neck.
Service air bag light came on intermittently. Vehicle taken to a dealer where a wiring harness was replaced. Subsequent, the vehicle was involved in a head-on crash severe enough to total the vehicle. Air bags did not deploy. A replacement vehicle (same model) was purchased, it too has a "service airbag" light.
Driver's side air bag did not deploy, with the result that face struck steering wheel, producing deglovement of nose on left side. Left knee struck switch array to lower left of steering wheel. Driver was wearing seat belt. Driver taken by ambulance to nearest hospital for treatment.
