What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The seat belt failed to restrain the driver, which caused bruising from hitting the steering wheel. Medical attention was required. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was determined that the vehicle performed as designed. The vehicle was not repaired.
Tl* the contact owns a 2008 chrysler aspen 4x4. The contact stated that when shifting from park into drive, the vehicle rapidly accelerated and crashed into the wall of the garage.
Do not remember if the cruise control was during the times the sudden acceleration was experienced. Was going around 5 '' 10 mph stepped on brake to stop and engine rev''ed up and before I was ale to turn key off or put the transmission in neutral I hit a camper.
Hit a deer traveling at over 50 mph head on and the airbags did not deploy. Damage to the car was extensive including the front bumper, grill and headlights. The deer was estimated to weigh over 200lbs.
Air bags did not deploy in a head on crash at 65 mph with a deer.
I experienced a loss of steering during a right hand turn. There was a trail of power steering fluid from the point of steering loss to the point of impact of other vehicle. Afterwards both wheels were pointed inward and the vehicle was not drivable.
