Headlights on cars in the usa have gotten brighter over the past decade. Although great visibility for the owner of that vehicle, oncoming traffic is blinded. Even though that seal was present, the plastic part was stained with rust as the lubricant had been washed out.. The part that fails is oriented up like a cup and will trap and hold water.
