What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
I was driving the Ford Edge and the roads were a little slick so I was driving very slow. I was about 2 blocks from my house when I needed to engage the brakes to come to a complete stop, which happened to be going downhill toward a stop sign that intersected with a freeway off ramp.
1) The lane keeping assistance feature was engaged. 2) I observed an upcoming snow drift across the road. 3) I stepped on the brakes to slow down. 4) I observed there was no oncoming traffic (two lane road). 5) I moved over towards the center of the road to better navigate the snow drift. 6.
The transmission jerks VERY strongly when shifting gears between 5mph - 60mpg. It is so pronounced that it effects my foot on the pedals and could cause drivers to slam on the accelerator or brake. The vehicle has 90k miles on it and this issue has been happening for 10k miles or so.
I have transmission failure at 63,000 miles. safety issue because it won't accelerate without shuttering could cause an accident. I have a Ford dealer email and repair order.
The vehicle hesitates, bucks, and surges when accelerating from low speed making it difficult and hazardous merging into traffic and other driving situations. The hesitation, bucking, and surging is getting progressively this happened around 70k miles. The mechanic is saying it needs to be replaced completely for 12k!
The “fix” for the rear camera has not resolved the issue. My rear camera worked for a short time after the fix was downloaded, but then stopped working. I don’t know what to do to fix it.
Because it is a safety issue, because when the Sun is in your face and you can't see driving it can very well cause an accident or getting a ticket for not being able to see your speed that you're going, because you're so far up trying to get the Sun out of your face.
When driving at lower speeds the car jerks/misses. A local Ford dealership confirmed it's the torque converter. Even purchased a warranty that is suppose to cover the issue and even they are being difficult about wanting to fix it!
