What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The contact stated that, upon pulling into a parking space, the vehicle suddenly accelerated on its own. As a result, the contact lost control of the vehicle, only coming to a complete stop after partially driving through a storefront.
During the crash, no air bags in the vehicle were deployed. The occupants in each vehicle were transported to the local hospital but no injuries were reported. A police report was taken at the scene. The vehicle was later driven to the local body repair shop and it was determined that the vehicle was unrepairable.
The horn for the vehicle is extremely weak, in fact too weak to be audible to a driver in front of you who has their car windows closed. It is inaudible in that instance nor is it audible over traffic noise or rain.
During the crash, the front driver's side air bag did not deploy. The contact sustained left leg, lumbar, neck, and abdomen injuries that later required medical treatment. One additional injury was reported from a second vehicle included in the crash. No further information was available.
The rear camera is having a glitch/ dark mode and is unable to fully inspect for any safety concerns despite myself checking my surroundings. It poses a hazard because it can cause myself to damage the car when I’m trying to reverse the car to park and I can accidentally hit an animal, a structure, or a child who is…
Vehicle shudders especially under 40mph. Dealer advised that the torque converter is bad.
The contact stated that the rearview camera intermittently displayed a blank image. The failure also affected the radio and the air conditioning system and the air conditioning was inoperable. The approximate failure mileage was 26,000.
The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine seized. In addition, the instrument cluster displayed a black screen with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle started. The vehicle was driven to the residence.
