What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
Design of vehicle with gas tank outside of the frame rails caused gas tank to explode in accident, killing driver.
Anti-lock brakes failed, resulting in loss of control/accident.
Vehicle stalled, causing loss of control/accident/injury. (attorney for client)
Windshield defroster fails to clear windshield, impairing driver's visibility, resulting in accident.
Vehicle fire during collision, resulting in death, daughter for father.
I have a recurring problem when traveling over bumps in road and braking. My abs will make a noise, and braking action will stop, even when I am pushing the brake pedal to almost the floor, until I pass over the bumps. At that time, braking action re-engages. I first reported this on 8/04/99.
When owners complained
