What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
I had back, neck, arm leg and seatbelt injures for pelvis to and including left arm. I was taken from my car to the via ambulance to the hospital. My car was totaled due to severe damage. My car was not involved in NHTSA recall 26V254000 INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C.
-I was Struck on drivers side (t-bone) both driverside doors, -NO airbag or seatbelt tensioning. - Whole body slammed up against driver's door, INJURIES-spinal, left leg (required a leg brash to stabilize), head injury - Car executing dtc B1413 safty airbag alerts since day purchased (pages of them) had to constantly…
⢠SECOND instance August 3 2026 driving (MY Mode) with Smart Cruise and Lane Assist. Parked in daughterâs driveway. Foot on brake. Absolutely pushed Electronic P for park. It was my intention to leave car on for AC while dropping a bag on their porch.
There was one occupant in the vehicle (myself), and I was wearing my seatbelt at the time of the incident. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact was later informed of the NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V316000 (FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 7,700.
I was driving - the car in front of me signaled they were exiting my lane, I accelerated to pull up - the auto brake triggered for no reason, slamming my car to a stop without my consent. This caused the car behind me to rear end the rear passenger side of my car, causing minor cosmetic damage.
Suspect faulty TCU or associated software: My 2026 Tucson Hybrid, purchased in February, has an intermittent âShift-by-Wire (SBW)â fault where the car refuses to shift into gear (e.g., Reverse) and displays âThe car is already in the desired gearâ warning on dashboard and the Check Engine light comes On.
The "Consider Taking a Break" alert and chime comes up randomly and is a driving distraction. There is no way to turn off the alert. I feel this is a safety issue since it causes a distraction.
