What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
I initiated a claim with Hyundai due to my car malfunctioning at a stoplight, the light turned green and I gently pressed the accelerator and it lurched forward and smashed into the car in front of me. I had taken my car in multiple times telling them the accelerator sticks and hesitates.
Wheel always going out of air and my truck always jerking when driving or breaking. I am a victim of the “Kia and Hyundai” boys in Baltimore city that’s going around stealing people cars.
The contact then firmly depressed the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle experienced an unintended acceleration at approximately 35 MPH. The vehicle drove into the neighbor's yard and crashed into the neighbor's house. No air bags were deployed. No injuries were sustained, and medical attention was not received.
17, 2022 and thieves attempted to take the vehicle after smashing the back passenger window and gaining access. The vehicle alarmed once they either attempted to either open the drivers side door or start the vehicle. Police were called and completed a report on scene. On Nov.
The contact mentioned that she had also experienced a hesitation in speed with the vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. No warning lights illuminated on the vehicle. There were no injuries reported. No police report was filed.
The transmission slipped when I try to change lines from the right to the left to turn left into a parking lot. I slow down to look if no one was coming, and whennI try to accelerate the transmission slipped the car behind me speed up to pass me thats when I lost power and my vehicle stop and they hit my car.
The contact stated that the transmission slipped and the vehicle jerked violently sometimes. On one occasion, in a shopping plaza parking lot, the vehicle jerked violently, the steering wheel seized, and the vehicle accelerated on its own.
At times the vehicle surges when I step on the accelerator and other times the rpms swing way up and the vehilce lags creating a dangerous situation when trying to change lanes on the highway at faster speeds.
