What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
Car has unintended acceleration that can only be stopped by turning off ignition key. This happens without warning. When stopped and foot on brake car accelerates to top rpm then brake goes to floor resulting in no control of car.
Without the engine running the power steering was nullified and the vehicle wanted to continue in a straight line. Approximately 200 ft. Ahead there was an area with a driveway belonging to the water dept. Which I was able to wrestle the vehicle onto, out of traffic. The car would not restart and aaa was called.
Reporting a sudden acceleration. Came to a stop (traffic light)suddenly the engine roared and the car took off with full speed. Hit a van at the drivers side backwheel area.the car was totalled.
The contact stated that the driver of the vehicle experienced a front-end crash into a tree at 20 mph and the air bags did not deploy. The driver was injured as a result. The vehicle was destroyed. A police report was available. The manufacturer offered no assistance.
However, the driver's side air bag did not deploy in this collision, and while the seat belt restrained me, my arm hit the steering wheel, and I suffered musculoskeletal injuries in this accident. The car has been deemed a total loss.
I stopped my my 2004 infiniti g35 sedan at the end of my driveway, set the parking brake, and got out of the car to retrieve an item left on the ground next to my mailbox. When I walked away from the car, it began rolling.
Lock actuators on passenger side have NEVER worked, fuel pump stops working when filling up tank even though not nearly full (have to repush the pump in several times - sometimes it doesnât let me fill up tank totally because it thinks itâs full), right headlights fog up and can't be polished, light bulbs went…
police were called, fire trucks checked for possible fire hazards. I looked for recalls and or air bag malfuctions for this year make and model but did not find any. Had I not been in the far right lane I could have been in a serious accident. The airbags deploying scared me.
