What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
I was traveling at around 25mph on broadway street in san francisco when all of a sudden I felt my car start to swerve on it's own. I steered to correct it but my steering wheel was completely disconnected it felt like.
In addition, the contact stated that the driver and passenger seat belts no longer retracted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact attempted to apply the brakes however, the brakes failed. The brake pedal fell to the floorboard. The contact crashed into a building and the air bags failed to deploy. The vehicle was towed. A police report was not filed. The contact had not taken the vehicle to the dealer.
After the collision, I was unable to remove my seat belt. The red release button would push down, but the seat belt buckle would not come out. A police officer had to cut the belt to free me.
I was wearing my seat belt, and the my chest was smashed against the air bag straps and left me with severe welts and terrible pain for over two months. My right tibia and fibula were broken and displaced. Two surgeries and three months in a cast and bed-ridden, I am finally doing much better.
The vdc turned off on a 2008 g35 during driving at 65 mph and tail spin happened. This is a loaner vehicle from a dealership so maintenance is unknown. Forums that are googled show the same.
After backing out of a parking spot, foot was on brake, shifted into drive and the car accelerated into a 360 degree spin. It hit a retaining wall on the side and the building behind it which brought it to a stop. As this developed there was zero control of the car and the dashboard lit up like a christmas tree.
My wife was traveling north on 476 from I-95 south before exit 3 without warning the right rear tire blew out which cause her to loose control and the car swerved and made minor contact with a curb or something. The tire came completely apart except for the inner and outer set bead which stayed on the rim.
