My 2027 INFINITI QX80 SPORT has repeated, extremely dangerous ProPILOT Assist steering failures that create a serious risk of collision. 1. FAILURE TO YIELD CONTROL: When I attempt to take over steering, ProPILOT does not reliably release control.
I am reporting a potential fuel/fire safety defect involving TWO brand-new 2027 Infiniti QX80s. My first QX80 developed a strong raw-gasoline odor after driving/shutdown, especially when parked in my residential garage. I repeatedly reported this to Infiniti.
I am concerned because a strong raw gasoline/fuel-vapor odor in an enclosed residential garage may indicate abnormal fuel-vapor release and could create a potential fire hazard and expose occupants to fuel vapors. No warning lights or dashboard messages appeared.
I am concerned that strong gasoline vapors in an enclosed garage could present a potential fire hazard and expose occupants to fuel vapors. No warning lights or dashboard messages appeared. The primary symptom was the strong raw gasoline/fuel-vapor odor.
No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuel tank and evaporative emission control canister needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10.
