What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
There has been a constant gas smell coming from gas tank area since we purchased vehicle in 2/2026. I thought it was just fumes from adding fuel but have since (while reaching in to retrieve grandbaby from back seat, I noticed a strong smell reaching towards driver door and a slight gas smell reaching inside vehicle.
However it was brought to my attention by the mechanic that the left side of the rear sub frame was rootted out by rust and broke almost causing a major accident.
The vehicle was taken to a non-Infiniti dealer, where it was diagnosed that the high-pressure fuel pump had failed. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failure persisted. Most recently, the vehicle was vibrating abnormally.
There was no warning light illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V683000 (Fuel System, Gasoline).
I starting hearing a grinding noise coming from engine couple of weeks ago. Took it to the Infinity dealership for a diagnostic test. The mechanic stated â timing chains were found to be stretched and metal was worn.â This is the same issue which prompted the recall of 2011-2013 QX56 models.
The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the vehicle began to stall. The contact veered to the side of the road and kept the vehicle running. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact then returned to her residence. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred while driving.
The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, there was an abnormal squealing sound coming from the engine, lasting for approximately ten minutes. There was an unknown warning light illuminated during the failure.
My airbag indicator light came on almost immediately following purchase. I took it to be fixed by infiniti service department. After picking up the vehicle, the light came back on. This cycle repeated multiple times.
