What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
While driving at 55 mph the auto stopped accelerating when pressure was placed on the gas pedal. The car had to be shut off and eventually started again. I brought it to my mechanic and he told me the throttle body is bad.
It has had 4 transmissions replaced and a throttle body replaced, along with a host of other items. My vehicle has been in and out of service for the past year. For a solid 6 months my car was in service, only out for 1-3 days at a time to find out that the transmission wasn't working correctly.
On three different occasions my jaguar xk8 lost power at full speed. The engine failed and I lost power steering and power breaks. I first reported this to my jaguar service center in may 2003 after the second incident.
