What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
I was driving very slowly down a residential side street and started to pull over to the right side to park behind a car. This parking spot was on a slight incline and the curb was made up of two slanted cobblestones.
I strongly believe this was caused by a software or system bug, as the sudden acceleration occurred without my intervention. Please investigate this issue thoroughly, as it raises serious safety concerns. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact stated that his wife was parking inside the garage, and the brake pedal was depressed she felt the brake pedal was vibrating, and the vehicle then accelerated independently. The contact stated that after several times depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle was able to come to a stop.
The contact stated that the EV battery warning light was constantly illuminated. The vehicle was taken to two dealers, including Napleton Autowerks of Indiana ([address], Schererville, [ZIP]), who confirmed that the parts were not yet available.
The vehicle was pulled over to the right side of the road, and the contact selected the option on the radio, and the message disappeared immediately. The contact continued driving and then reversed, and the message was displayed again, and the brakes independently engaged.
Crucially, the certified technician noted a grinding noise coming from the axle drive module, which occurs specifically when slowing down. These symptoms perfectly mirror the known manufacturing defects outlined in NHTSA Recall 24V331 for the 2022 EQB front axle drivetrain failure.
