What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
Vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly surged forward when vehicle was put into drive, resulting in a collision.
While driving vehicle on the street at approximately 10 mph brake pedal broke, causing vehicle to rear end vehicle in front. Dealer/manufacturer notified.
Traveling 45-50mph when vehicle in front suddenly stopped. Sable rearended the vehicle. Upon impact, neither air bags deployed. Passenger hit windshield with head. Passenger failed to used seat belt at time.
Owner was driving and applied the brakes and slid into the rear of the car in front of him. Hit the rear, going 15mph and the air bags didn't deploy.
Hit vehicle left front ,which knocked my vehicle into wall , air bags did not deploy.
While driving approximately 40 mph, the transmission jerked severely with extreme hesitation. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing who stated that the rear subframe was completely corroded, which caused damage to the transmission.
The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for a diagnostic test. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 160,000.
There is a strong gas smell especially on hot days and there seems to be excessive pressure in the gas tank. I have scoured the vehicle for leaks and can not find any. I have replaced both rubber hoses from the filler neck to the tank and even dropped the tank but didn't find any evidence of a leak.
