What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
While the contact was pulling into a parking space the vehicle suddenly surged forward without warning causing the contact to crash into a pole. The contact previously noticed that the vehicle would surge forward whenever it came to a stop. The vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealership.
In december of 2007 I was driving with my three kids and I was pregnant with twins. It had been raining for a few days I slowed to make a right hand turn my car slide and I went into a poll head on my airbags didn't open my car was later totaled by the insurance company.
I was involved in an accident while traveling at about 45 mph. I hit another vehicle that pulled out in front of me. No air bags deployed.
The driver's side rear quarter panel was dented and scuffed badly from the tire debris, and the tread that flew off also broke the tail light. The plastic shroud surrounding the gas filler tube inside the rear wheel well broke. I have photos and the tires at home. Please contact me if you have any further questions.
The fire department was also present but no evacuation was required for the minor injries incurred. The airbags did not deploy however the seatbelts did restrain the occupants. The vehicle was determined to be a total loss.
Dt: contact put the vehicle in park and exited the vehicle and it rolled backwards. The door pulled the contact under the vehicle, and both sets of tires ran her over. She sustained a broken pelvic bone, a broken hip, a broken femur, a broken knee, a broken ankle, and a broken back from l1-5.
