What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The vehcile was in a munor accicent. There was a rock in the road on a roundabout. The rock popped the front left tire causing vehichle to go out of control. There was some undercarriage damage to the control arms. There was no body damage. No rollover. No other vehicle involved.
It was unknown whether a warning light was illuminated before of after the crash. The passenger's side roof rail air bags deployed. The contact stated that the axle and the front passenger's side tire were bent. No police report was filed. There was no injury sustained.
Also, the front collision warning comes on at totally random times ~ when there's no one in front of me at all or when there are several car lengths separating me and another vehicle. Sometimes it also says it's unable to detect, which is also totally random.
The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who performed a tire alignment; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was returned to the independent mechanic, who could not determine the cause of the failure and referred the contact to a dealer. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnosis or repair.
The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle shuddered, jerked, and felt as though it was about to stall before resuming normal operation. The failure occurred more frequently while making left or right turns. No warning lights illuminated.
The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, the ABS warning light was intermittently illuminated. While driving 45 MPH, the vehicle failed to stop as intended while depressing the brake pedal. There was no warning light illuminated.
My grand daughter who is [XXX] old was getting out of the car from the passengers rear door and the rear seat belt locked and retracted around her , continuously tightened and was wrapped around her abdomen, squeezing and failed to release. I attempted myself to get her out of the entrapment with no success.
The contact stated while her husband was driving approximately 20 MPH, with the contact in the front passenger's seat, and the contact's sister and minor son in the rear seats, the contact heard an abnormal loud banging sound noticed that the rear window had shattered. The glass fell inside and otside the vehicle.
