What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The wheel bearing on both the front left side right broke twice and the right side once. The first incident , I took the car to the dealer and since my warranty was 90 miles over, I was told that I would have to pay which I did. I paid each time to have these repaired. Is this a normal occurrence?
Bad paint job on hood at delivery, re-clearcoated it. Noisy catalytic converter, replaced bad wheel bearing and brakes now failing (complete loss of fluid in rear) horrible dash squeak that cannot be located or fixed. Awd fluid had to be replaced due to "wrong fluid used" at assembly.
Brakes and rotors needed to be replaced. Olds alero 2000 brakes shuttered and failed at 23,000 miles as a gm parts warehouse employee I know that many fellow employees and myself have had this similar. The problem occurs with many less miles than my vehicle, typically with 4000 to 10000 miles.
