What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
When I put the car back in drive and let off the brake, it lurched forward, I then hit the brake and it continued to accelerate for about 20 feet and hit a granite wall.
Despite the severity of the impact, the side curtain airbags failed to deploy. This malfunction significantly compromised the safety of my family, leading to a 60% tear in my left rotator cuff, which required surgery.
No injuries were reported. A police report was taken at the scene. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not contacted. The failure mileage was 3,000.
I was driving on the highway and the car shut down completely leaving me without power steering, engine control error, electrical system error. I had to glide to the shoulder of the highway. Luckily traffic was light enough that I was able to get over on the highway and avoid getting hit by other vehicles.
There is a red ring that comes up on left side of dashboard that has text inside it that says "Keep hands on steering wheel." It removes acceleration of the car and stiffens the steering wheel until you jerk the wheel and get it to turn off. It is very distracting and happens suddenly.
When the forward collision warning activates, the braking pedal loses its effectiveness and causes the car to brake much more slowly than it should, which actually increases the chance of a collision occurring. This has happened multiple times to me in the past few weeks. It is a very dangerous problem.
On March 21, 2026 my Taycan motor wire disconnected from the battery during routine city driving The car was In the Middle lane of [XXX] waiting to turn left onto [XXX] A warning light said Car not drivable , pull over But the car was not functional.
Do not charge the car more 80% fire risk. 2. Loss of power stalling, software malfunction. 3. Battery/Electrical: Battery issues, erratic instrument panel gauges or lights. electronic stability control overheating. 4. Miscellaneous Concerns; Battery power loss.
