What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
I was slowly pulling up to the right side of the garage and the car surged forward at full speed 5 ft away. It smashed the front of the house. Filed a claim with USAA car insurance. Last year in August of 2025 I was in the Tag n Go car wash. I pulled up they stopped me and I put the car in neutral.
The airbags did not deploy. Note: The car has molded OEM floormats that were secure at the time of the accident. The vehicle was towed to a body shop and the insurance company declared the vehicle a total loss.
The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a lot. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. At the time of the impact, the driver hit her head on the glass.
There were no warning lights illuminated. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. There were no reported fires. The driver sustained injuries that consisted of swollen ribs, a bruised and swollen shin, leg, and damage to his feet. Medical attention was provided at the local hospital.
The car suddenly accelerated on its own, causing me to jump a curb & lose control. I landed between the restaurant building & drive through, taking out the signs & drive through. It was sudden & a nightmare. Busted both front tires & We had to get a flatbed truck to remove.
In JuneOf 2019 I got side swiped on the driver’s side beginning at the driver’s door while driving; the airbags did not deploy. The matter was taken care of by mutual agreement between attorney and other drivers insurance company (AAA).
The Air Bags DID NOT deploy, The seat belt allowed her forward with her breast catching most of the impact, and the front camera system that should have detected the stopped Rav 4 did not alert. We had no error codes nor lights on this car prior and were not aware of any potential recalls.
The injuries were mostly severe bruising over several areas especially from the seat belts. A police report was filed. The vehicle was totaled. Both the front and rear bumpers were torn off, the driver's side was smashed in. The frame bar on the driver's side under the hood was bent.
