What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
Was backing up trying to park vehicle and suddenly vehicle accelerated forward on his own causing an accident (hit a pole). Smoke started coming out of the hood.
A really rough storm hit and it knocked down a huge tree in the road covering the entire road. I did not see the tree until I got up on it and I went straight through it. I was running around 40 mph and total front end impact took the whole bumper off but my airbags did not deploy.
This is a serious safety hazard; if the car caught fire, I could be burnt alive.
It was heavy rain traffic came and when I slowed down the anti lock breaks effected me from stopping fast enough and were made me just slid into back off vehicle in front off me giving me injury's to my kneck due to the air bags did NOT deploy.
During the crash, the driver's seat unexpectedly reclined backwards, and the air bags failed to deploy. The contact received an on-site assessment by the paramedics but declined to be transported from the scene. The contact later sought medical attention for whiplash, a concussion, and neck and back pain.
