What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
Dt: the contact stated while the vehicle was parked on a hill the parking brake failed. The contact's vehicle rolled down a hill and hit another vehicle, which sustained damage. The contact's vehicle was taken to a mechanic, who noticed the cable broke. Nothing has been done to repair the vehicle.
The frame has had excessive rusting around the rear suspension area for about 7-8 years. Repairs have had to be made to this area. Finally, toyata anounced a recall for this problem but it only goes back to 1995.
Took my 1992 toyota truck in for service while on the lift they noticed that the frame near the leaf spring was rusted through. It was large enough to put your arm through it and they said it was not safe to drive. It is great little truck other than this. The mechanic said that there may be a recall for this.
Both frame members half way between the front and rear tires were rusted so bad that one could put ones arm all the way thru. The truck has a good engine and tires, but now is just a dangerous piece of junk. Nothing can be done to fix it.
Tl* the contact owns a 1992 toyota pickup. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign id number: 05v389000 (steering: linkages: rod: relay: connecting) and the vehicle was taken to the dealer for repairs.
They argued with me for almost 30 minutes that I did not own a toyota pickup, even though it was parked in their driveway, in clear view through the large window. After that they argued that my vehicle did not have a recall. That's why I went to the more distant and less convenient kendall toyota dealership.
Once he applied the first application of the product, it caused the steering wheel to shudder rapidly, spanning an inch and a half clockwise/counter-clockwise. The consumer stated he could feel it being transmitted from the imbalance of the tire.
Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6) I own a 1992 4x4 toyota pickup (vin #[xxx]) I read an article last week in the washington post saying that this year toyota pickups have been recalled for faulty steering and linkage rods.
