I took it into the dealership and they replaced several parts including the dash and radio components. They also performed a front camera recall repair. During and after this event, the brakes, power steering, and restraint system all became inoperable. Brakes failed to engage and power steering did not function. The issue resolved itself after turning the vehicle completely off and back on again.
While driving on approximately September 24, 2026, the instrument cluster and infotainment screens went completely black — total loss of speedometer, gauges, warning indicators, and all readouts. The screens restarted on their own after a few minutes.
After shifting to drive the vehicle had no brakes. A week or so earlier the check engine light came on. Messages on the screen said brake system failure along with other messages. Took to dealership, an update was installed.
The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, there was smoke coming from the front tires, and the tires were extremely hot. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact became aware of the burning tire odor coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic after a tire rotation.
Exterior headlamp surface coating/finish is delaminating/peeling from the OEM headlamp assembly. Dull headlamps pose safety risk as visibility is dimished. GM does not want to warranty defect, no reason given.
The contact stated that while driving on several occasions at various speeds, the Forward Collision Avoidance system activated, and the brakes inadvertently engaged. The Forward Collision Avoidance warning light illuminated, with an audible chime and an unknown message displayed.
On May 15, 2026, my 2023 Chevrolet Colorado (2.7L L3B turbocharged engine, approximately 49,000 miles) lost its entire engine oil charge while in normal operation, and at NO point did the low-oil-pressure warning light illuminate to alert me.
