Run and Drive does not mean it will make it home

A Run and Drive caption over a 3D scene of a car. Illustration, not a measured reconstruction of the damage.

Subtitles: voice-over text.

Run and Drive only means that at check-in the car started, engaged a gear and moved. Starts and Stationary mean even less.

In short

  • Run and Drive: checked at check-in, no guarantee it will make it to the port.
  • Starts: the engine starts, movement was not checked.
  • Stationary: does not start, for any reason.

Status definitions depend on the auction and on when the car was inspected; this is not an assessment of its technical condition.

Run and Drive does not mean the car will make it. It only means that at check-in it started, engaged a gear and moved under its own power. It is no guarantee that it will make it to the port. And Starts means even less: the engine starts, but movement was not checked. Stationary: it does not start. Anything from the battery to the engine. What to check on a specific lot: at vinwind.com.
