The vehicle began to roll back as an abnormal, whining sound began to emit from the transmission. As the vehicle began to roll over a curb and into some grass, the passenger attempted to exit the vehicle but was unsuccessful.
Prior to the incident, there were no on-screen indicators, warnings, or warning lights. It was only after the brake failure that a message appeared on the screen—along with the wrench symbol—reading "Brake Assist Service."
The brake booster vacuum pump failed catastrophically while driving, resulting in a sudden, dangerous loss of power braking assist and a rock-hard brake pedal. Upon inspection by a mechanic, the pump's internal failure violently sheared and destroyed the engine's exhaust camshaft, requiring a complete camshaft…
No warning lights what so ever. Happened thankfully when pulling into my driveway at slow speed. Had to stand on the brake pedal to get stopped. If this would have occurred at interstate speeds. It would have been bad.
While driving our 2022 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 (VIN: [XXX]) through an active roadway intersection at approximately midnight, the vehicle experienced a sudden, uncommanded complete loss of motive power and stalled without advance warning.
Loss of power steering, Truck repaired by GM dealer, he stated it was the same failure mode described in Recall notice N2023254 10. The repair even though the same as the previous failures was not covered by GM because my VIN was not in GMs recall notice.
There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was a recurring failure. The dealer was contacted, and the contact was informed that parts were on a national back order. The manufacturer was not made aware of failure. The failure mileage was 23,750.
He could not identify any issues and no warning lights. I contacted General Motors problem resolution team in Detroit. They had me take my truck to a Chevy Dealership which I did. The truck was at the dealership from 7:30 in the morning till almost 4pm.
