The Emergency Brake system, The Anti-Collision Sensor, The vibrating Driver's seat Alert, The dashboard Collision Alert lightening......All of these gave no alert prior to the collision.
This is the second Chevrolet Suburban we have owned. In both cars, the middle seat of the 2nd and 3rd row bench seats are missing a head rest. This could result in a severe neck injury to the passenger in a car accident. How is Chevrolet allowed to roll out these cars from the factory with this obvious safety defect?
The contact stated that all the front air bags deployed, however, the wife told him that the passenger side air bag had begun to emit smoke after deploying and then a fire started. The contact stated that the vehicle had stopped after the impact and that his wife was having difficulty unbuckling her seat belt.
The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine failed after the message “Drive Carefully - Reduce Acceleration” was displayed and the vehicle then came to a sudden stop. The vehicle was unable to accelerate, and the engine seized. The contact replaced the battery, but the failure persisted.
Intermittant slow, jerking when shifting gears. In 4wd rear wheels locked up on right hand turn, sliding through intersection. No warning or failure lights. Needs inspection and repair.
In early August 2026 the transmission began shuddering at low speeds. Reported to the selling and servicing Chevrolet dealer on 08/11/2026 at 118,892 miles. No transmission diagnosis was performed; the dealer's written estimate recommended spark plugs on a diesel engine. The condition worsened.
My 22 Suburban has the 5.3L and had engine failure on the freeway going 70 mph in April 2026. Loud noises and loss of power. Towed to dealership and was confirmed that it was the same issues as the 6.2L.
The contact stated that while driving 55 MPH, the vehicle lost power and then stalled. The vehicle stopped in the middle of the highway and was inspected. The vehicle was then towed to a different dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine had failed and needed to be replaced.
