This rental had broken window glass under the passenger seat, and the car started sounding weird when turning and driving. On a morning, that same week dropping off my ex now at her job that same week, on my way back the suv started making the sounds more profound or louder (metal grinding on metal) and immediately…
The air bags did NOT deploy in the Equinox. Notation of the airbag failure was noted by on scene police, firefighters and paramedics. No other related work, alterations or repairs had previously occurred to this vehicle. No other indications or warning lights occurred or displayed prior to the accident.
After going very slow, mostly stopped, in stop-and-go traffic for 2 hours, my Chevy Equinox suddenly started to shake and would not respond. The car/engine was on and in Drive but the gas petal would not propel the car forward. My steering wheel locked and I could not turn it in any way.
Driving 60 miles per hour, on [xxx] in walpole massachusetts the power steering failed of our 5 month old chevy equinox. I was unable to turn with the curved road. I pressed brakes as hard as I could, hit guard rail. Dash board illuminated "service power steering drive with care".
No warning lights were illuminated. The contact's wife who was driving sustained air bag and seat belt bruising but no medical attention was required. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the impound lot. The insurance company had not inspected the vehicle as of yet.
1.The airbags did not deploy, possibly missing. 2. I suffered injury and crashed into a building. I was hit. 3. Vehicle was inspected by the Hertz Rental Car. 4. Do not remember any messages.
power steering failed causing vehicle to crash into guard rail. traffic was moderate on all 3 lanes and appoching vehicles avoided multiple crashes. ma state police arrived & driver taken to mass general hospital baby car seat unoccupied at time of accident.
I slammed on the brakes to avoid an accident and the seatbelt did not catch me. The accident did occur and made my jaw and chin area hit the steering wheel and airbag.
