What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
Single occupant black ice-induced head on high force impact tree collision while with no pre-tensioner or air bag deployments of one-owner vehicle
My truck was parked outside my house and this drunk driver hit my truck in the middle of the night.and mest up all of one side of the truck including my engine, baby seats and tires and windows.
When vehicles hit seatbelt didn't lock right away which threw me forward and into the drivers side door. It was a head on accident and airbags never went off which make the emt's and police concerned do to the damage to the truck..
The brake lines on my 2001 chevrolet 2500hd have completely rusted out. I was backing out of my drive way in reverse and went to step on the brake an the pedal went to the floor. I rolled to the end of my driveway, across the street and through my neighbor's fence.
2001 chevy silverado k2500 brake failure. Driving home on a country blacktop road, road wet from rain but visibility good. Approaching a 45 mph curve I applied the brakes. The pedal was soft and went to the floor quickly. The truck front tires had no brakes and the rears locked up.
No previous problems with the park brake failing ever occurred prior to this. Our truck was totaled due to damage sustained in the accident. The 5 yr old boy remained in the bed of the truck during the runaway. He broke his jaw in three places and fractured his right arm in two places.
Airbag did not deploy. I took the vehicle to the shop where they said they could not diagnose the problem unless it was happening at the time they were evaluating it. One week later the cruise kicked in by itself when I was driving at 45 mph. No rapid acceleration this time.
I was driving down the road and I heard a clunk. I lost all power and coasted into a farmers field. The dash board said lost power, nothing else. I had no warning. Oil pressure was where it should be until is quit. Keller Chevrolet contacted us and told us the engine blew.
