What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
Suddenly, the van lurches forward when I take my foot off the brake. The lurch is not soft of mild, it is shocking and frightening. In one case, we hit the car parked ahead of us. In both cases, had a person been in front of the car, he or she would have been surely injured.
I smelt smoke and told my 4 young children in the back seat we needed to get out now. Two of my children were in 5 pt harness car seats in the third row. We were able to run to a safe area before it went up in flames less than a few mins later. There were no witnesses and no one around.
We took our vehicle in to the Service Center for a routine inspection on August 9, 2021, because we realized our sticker expired only to learn that it would not pass inspection due to the check engine light coming on.
Vehicle accelerator jammed while slowly backing vehicle (rear end first) into home garage at around 12:15 p.m. On december 17, 2019. Vehicle and passengers were thrown back into the garage wall at a high speed causing vehicle and property damage.
While my wife was sitting in the car with the car running in park the car began to go in reverse and it started to accelerate and brakes didnt work and car crashed into a fence and shed. Multiple witnesses confirmed her account as she had window down and was screaming with her hands in the air.
At 105,000 miles the check engine light came on, at which point the vehicle experienced rough starts and a rough idle. Vehicle also began emitting white/gray smoke from the exhaust upon starting. Upon diagnosis it was determined that coolant was leaking into #4 cylinder requiring head gasket replacement.
The contact stated that while stopped at a traffic light, the vehicle lost motive power and the engine shut off. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving in Reverse (R), the rearview camera displayed a frozen image. The dealer was notified of the failures.
October 13, 2026: On starting the vehicle, the instrument cluster flickered repeatedly, and multiple warning lights appeared. A Service Shifter warning followed, and the rotary gear selector indicator lights stopped illuminating. Gear selection remained functional, and the lights subsequently returned.
