What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
I was backing out of driveway and the passenger side ball joint came apart. This let the control arm fall in to the rim. Breaking it and blowing out tire. Also damaged cv axle and passenger side fender. Prior to that about 3 months before the driver side ball joint did the same thing.
The independent investigator and the manufacturer provided no specific diagnosis on why the air bags did not deploy and sent a letter with a response. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.
I was driving home and turned down my street going only 5 mph and the left front wheel came off.
Tl contact owns a 2001 chrysler sebring convertible. While driving approximately 55 mph the contact lost control of the vehicle, resulting in a crash. The police appeared on the scene and the driver was injured.
The air bag did not deploy. Similar events have occurred a half dozen or more times before, but never with the same consequences. On previous occasions, the continuing acceleration stopped after a delay and I was able to bring the car to a stop, on two previous occasions, there was another auto a car length or more in…
We have a 2004 chrysler sebring convertible which has a problem with lurching forward and unable to stop (no brakes). This has happened 3 times and we feel it is a very dangerous situation. It has now been diagnosed as a transmission problem.
