What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
We were travelling on the i44 east of st.louis, on 04/14/16 when the first tire on the drivers side rear inside tire blew out, the tread had peeled off the tire and tore out the wiring in the wheel well for the 120 vac and the 12 vdc and damaged 2 compartments and about 5 feet of the tailpipe was crushed.
There was an abnormal burning smell as the front driver side brake seized. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the front driver side brake calipers, seal, brake pads, and hoses failed and needed to be replaced.
Driver side thermal pane window and passenger side thermal pane window seals have failed resulting in fog between the window panes. With no way to clear these windows, critical rear/side vision is diminished since side view mirrors must be viewed through these fogged panes.
Drivers and passenger side windows fogged as well as window behind passenger and one over sink. Slowly I believe they will all fail. I made mike thompson rv aware of the problem on three different occasions, every time saying it is not covered under warranty.
The contact stated that while driving 35 mph, the windows on the driver side and passenger side became foggy and he could not see. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was contacted. The vehicle was outside the warranty. The failure mileage was 42,030. Updated 03/07/11
The antilock brake system warning light indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. The engine was turned off and after waiting a few moments the vehicle was restarted. The vehicle was able to resume in operation, although the brakes remained spongy.
We had total brake failure on our fleetwood bounder yesterday 11/29/09 that has a break recall on it and workhorse chasis refuses to fix. The brakes failed, brake pedal went to the floor, alarm sounded, abs light came on and also light stating "brake failure,.
The hitch that is factory installed broke away from the rv due to it not being properly welded to the frame. Our jeep broke completely away from the rv while we were driving the vehicle. We had a certified welder repair the rv and we also have pictures of the defective weld.
