What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
I was in a collision and the whole front end was crushed but the airbags did not deploy
A police report was filed, and the report stated that the driver of the 2019 Ford Expedition advised that the vehicle crashed into the contact's vehicle due to brake failure. The other driver sustained unknown injuries and was also transported to the hospital by ambulance. No further information was available.
During the test drive, I heard a rattling noise at startup and was told by my salesperson, Derrick, that it was just a “cold start.” I was shown a CarFax report claiming no recalls or major repairs. I later discovered this was false.
Seatbelt locked and air bags NEVER deployed. Ford dealership and insurance company very very suprised that given impact, speed, etc airbags never went off. Also emergency braking system did give collision detection warning and then seemed to entirely take over braking as I attempted to brake very hard nothing seemed…
As a result, the contact lost consciousness, causing the vehicle to collide with a tree. Fortunately, the contact did not sustain any additional injuries. No police report was filed. The contact was able to drive away from the accident scene and personally repair the vehicle.
My wife was driving home from work and when she went to stop at an intersection, the brakes failed to engage. She stated she pushed the brake to the floor and the car would not stop. We were on the phone when this occurred. She suddenly said she got into an accident as her car would not stop.
The contact son was occupying the front passenger seat but the seat belt failed to retract. There were no warning lights illuminated. The steering wheel air bag struck the driver in the mouth. The passenger had scratches, but medical attention was not provided. A police report was filed. There was no reported fire.
While driving my 2019 Ford Expedition on the interstate at approximately 75 mph, the driver side seatbelt suddenly and unexpectedly locked up and forcefully retracted without warning.
