What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
Without any warning, no smell or smoke, three hours later after it was parked it ignited, opened the door and sprayed water on the fire to put it out. Opened hood and disconnected battery. Fire started in the drivers side door, appears to be electrical.
Our passenger door latch started "sticking" in january 2001. It would open eventually after several tries. In january 2002 however, it completely stopped opening at all. We have to have the ignition switch on and roll down the power window and reach out to open the door from the outside.
State troopers firemen and police witnessed transmission fire, totally destroyed my van.
Steer gear box bolts assembly pulled trough frame rails and causing it to crake and split
While driving the truck, fuel from the first fuel tank crossovered to the second fuel, overflowing the tank, the overage of fuel spilled out onto the ground, problem related to recall campaign 93v-125, consumer was not notified of recall and is requesting reimbursement.
Constant stalling of vehicle while driving at 50 m/h with high outside temperatures (80+ degrees). Symptoms similar to vapor lock. Must be towed off highway and allowed to cool down. Problem does not seem to exist in cool weather. Has stalled on off-ramps blocking traffic coming off highway.
Firestone, steel tex radial, lt24575r16 on a ford, shuttle van. Driver's side rear tire has steel belts busting through middle of the tread.
On my dual tank fuel system, switching to the rear tank caused fuel to enter the front tank, no fuel was spilled but could have if I had not used the front tank first, the problem continues to exist, it also results in fuel line pressure decreasing after shutting off, causing prolonged starting time for vehicle.
