What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The consumer stated that the front end of the truck pushed the engine in enough, that it had broken the windshield, and neither of the air bags deployed. (both vehicles in this accident were totaled) ford/f150/2000 scc
Consumer was traveling about 65mph on highway and another vehicle veered into consumer's vehicle, forcing him off to shoulders into a barrier. Upon impact, driver's side airbag didn't go off.
2000 ford truck excursion; while driving 30 mph had a direct frontal impact, an driver's/passenger's airbags did not deploy, which did not protect the occupant in this crash. Dealer was not willing to find the cause of the problem. Please provide further information.
While driving the excursion at a speed around 35 mph, heard a very load pop noise from under the hood and lost power from the engine and the vehicle rolled to a stop. Had the vehicle towed to my local ford dealership for trouble shooting purpose. They told me the number 7 spark plug blew out from the head.
2000 ford windstar sel -the active control light goes on slight bumps or rough on highways-goes off, but recently after the rear axle recall and check of by dealership on oct 4, 2010, our car has on more than three or four times went into the action control mode when the light on dash went on --and this at high…
Our rv seemed sluggish on going up on hills, then sudden engine failure while going uphill on hwy 77 in wv. Towed to a large aaa repair centre, where they looked into some spark plugs and pulled 5 out, one of which was so badly damaged, flattened with twisted threads, they determined it needs a new engine.
Clock and radio 'read out-number' just quit working - fail to light up. Mileage read out comes on and off as it pleases, does not work consistently. The radio buttons are starting to not come on when you start the car and do not stay on - 2005.
On three occasions the cruise control has gone on automatically causing the vehicle to accelerate. During the most recent event my wife almost hit another vehicle. I will contact the dealership first thing monday morning, but thought you should have this info on the vehicle.
