What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
After I began driving, multiple unusual and misleading messages appeared on the screen. About 15 minutes later, I reached my destination and began to park. As I was parking, the vehicle continued moving despite my foot being pressed firmly on the brake. I had to steer into a wall to stop it.
When I moved the gear shift into reverse and lifted my foot from the pedal, the car surged more than expected and the left mirror hit the cement pillar. The dealership advised me to open a claim with a manufacturer so they could review the other ongoing issues as well as the acceleration that caused the accident.
The Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) on my Genesis GV60 called Highway Driving Assist (HDA) would randomly turn off without warning ever since I purchased the vehicle.
While I was parking in the lot, the vehicle nearly came to a stop when it abruptly accelerated on its own. My foot was firmly planted on the brake, a standard practice at the end of the parking process.
The charger port warning light was illuminated. The contact attempted to depress the brake pedal however, the vehicle failed to decrease in speed; the vehicle suddenly became difficult to maneuver.
Immediately following the sound, the dashboard displayed a critical warning light stating: "Electrical Charging System Fault — Check Electrical System." Because I was actively driving in heavy rush-hour traffic, this sudden loss of charging system functionality posed an immediate safety hazard.
