What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The brake pedal went to the floor and the van did not stop so I was forced to pull off the road onto a lawn and my van side swiped a mailbox . This was a terrifying experience for me and my 11 year old son who was in the passenger seat.
While parking my car in my garage, I had put it in park and took my foot of the brake pedal, my 2007 honda accord sedan lunged forward hitting my drywall, solar water heater, washer and dryer then it jumped back and stopped. I was so stunned as I didn't know what was happening here.
Recently I experienced a near death accident because the engine rapidly accelerated by itself as I exited a slight uphill driveway. As I approached the end of the driveway I stopped before turning onto the road, I heard a thud or clunk and then the car lurched and sped rapidly into the road which was wet from rain.
