I own a 2019 Honda CR-V and have repeatedly experienced brake-system warning lights, starting problems, a hard brake pedal and unexpected braking/deceleration. Most recently, at approximately 34,603 miles, I again reported tight steering, pulling to the right and shaking at highway speeds. On September 04, 2026, at approximately 38000 miles, while driving in wet conditions, I was involved in a loss-of-control/hydroplaning accident.
Car accelerated unexpectedly when braking at a parking spot. Car accelerated over the curb and hit another car.
During the crash, there was severe front-end damage; however, the air bags failed to deploy. No injuries were reported. A Police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to the local Collision Center. The cause of the failure was not yet determined.
Both involved the wheels locking during braking and a loss of steering control. On the third occurrence, on June 25, while driving on the freeway, the vehicle ahead braked suddenly. The driver applied the brakes and they initially responded, allowing the driver to slow and avoid hitting the vehicle in front.
When I pressed on the brake to stop the car completely the brakes failed and the car lurched forward about 10 ft and hit the church building damaging my front left bumper, buckling the hood and components behind the bumper.
