What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
My vehicle sustained significant front end damage and the air bags did not deploy. The vehicle had to be flat bedded to a Massachusetts State Police Barracks, pending further action by my insurance company. There were no injuries.
My Honda ridgeline had 7,590 miles when it started failing all the dash board lights turned on the engine decelerated I then tried to accelerate it rapidly accelerated my steering wheel vibrated I could not turn or slow down witch caused for me to crash
My foot is still in the air and yet the car is still surging ahead full throttle and my vehicle is flying towards a car that had come down the ramp a few seconds ahead of me.
The contact stated that the air bag had not deployed, and the seat belt had not restrained her. The contact stopped the vehicle and saw that the driver's side headlight was shattered, and a part of the front fender was dented. The contact also saw that the engine shield had been sheared off from under the vehicle.
This seems to be when the braking system finally responded as I started to slow down some, as it bounced and jerked across the remaining lanes, leaving skid marks on that part of the road.
The contact stated that while driving up a slope at various speeds, the vehicle would hesitate to accelerate as intended while the accelerator pedal was depressed. The brake warning light illuminated.
