What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The contact stated when attempting to park, the vehicle accelerated on its own and hit the vehicle in front of them causing damage to their front driver side headlight and the grill was caved in. The contact had to depress on the brake pedal and hit the ignition switch for the vehicle to stop accelerating.
The rearview camera, blind spot warning, parking collision warning, the rear cross traffic warning, nor the automatic emergency braking kicked in. I was going at a very low speed at the time of the incident (~1-2 mph).
The auto suddenly lurched, accelerated, jumped the curb and hit a brick wall. My foot was on the brake the entire time. The wall is what stopped the auto. I reported this to honda. They evaluated the auto and found no computer notifications of a malfunction and therefore no issues with the car.
The contact was concerned about the safety of the vehicle as she previously experienced electrical and brake failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000. Consumer stated car would brake on it's own sometimes.
Vehicle stalled and had a power system failure requiring driver to pull off to the side of a road that blocked traffic. The acceleration/drive function no longer worked. The vehicle displayed a POWER SYSTEM PROBLEM message on the dashboard and showed "DO NOT DRIVE".
Forcing a consumer to drive a vehicle with a known, documented internal coolant leak risks sudden engine seizure, overheating, and catastrophic stalling on public highways, creating a severe and preventable crash hazard.
Could have cause engine fire and/or disabled vehicle while on road. Very expensive fix and dealers who were contacted said theyâve had multiple vehicles repaired for same issue. Online is widely reported problem with this make and model and among the different trim types all same problems
The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed the vehilce intermediately misfired due to oil leak. No warning lights were illuminated The vehicle was taken to the local where it was diagnosed the head gasket needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired.
