What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
I own a 2019 Honda CR-V and have repeatedly experienced brake-system warning lights, starting problems, a hard brake pedal and unexpected braking/deceleration. I repeatedly reported these concerns to East Coast Honda, asked them to inspect the brakes, and showed photos/videos of warning lights, but many of my…
The contact stated that the side air bags did not deploy. The contact stated that the police were called and wrote a report. The contact stated that there were no injuries. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 53,519.
The driver seatbelt failed to lock when rear end collision occurred and drivers face slammed into steering wheel. The steering wheel airbag failed to deploy when the car rear ended the vehicle in front of them. Drivers safety was jeopardized and now has severe concussion.
Engine RPM surged while nose- in parking with foot on brake, causing vehicle to unexpectedly jump the parking barrier and hit a steel sign post, incurring $3,300 cosmetic damage to left front of vehicle. Pressed harder on brake to stop. Cost estimate obtained, complaint filed with American Honda.
The contact had a broken left hand, 3 broken ribs, seatbelt injury, partial lumbar herniation, and left shin was bruised and had an open wound. The front passenger left the scene and did not receive medical treatment until the following day, they suffered a broken right wrist.
Car stops suddenly on highway, going into, "limp mode." All dash warning lights came on. Rich emissions. VTM-4 issue. This is an ongoing issue with CR-Vs, yet manufacturer has issues no solution, clearly opting to work each situation independently.
My brakes are electronically controlled due to it having an electric brake booster and AEB, radar cruise control and more. I could have been killed. HONDA DIDNT CARE, made me take the car with no brakes.
Vehicle has had phantom braking and accelerations, occurrences of "Christmas tree dashboard" with all system alerts going off - have been intermittent, far between and unsure how to go about presenting to dealership or auto repair due to this - however THIS OCCURRED TODAY AND CAUSED A COLLISION/ ACCIDENT!
