What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
As I drove along I-575 - a 4-lane highway - I noticed a kind of power surge from my engine. My speedometer registered 80 mph! I applied the brakes but was unable to slow the car more than 20-30 mph, and then it started to creep back up. I exited at that point, knowing I needed help. I was still going much too fast.
The air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained shoulder, neck, and low back injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was later taken to paul paint and body shop in high ridge, mo, where the vehicle was being repaired for the crash damage.
The contact stated that the seat belt pretensioner failed and the air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The contact's wife sustained a broken knee cap and upper torso injuries. The rear passenger sustained back injuries and the driver sustained back and torso injuries. Medical attention was required.
The car was being driven down an off-ramp and suddenly the steering locked up in a hard right turn which forced the vehicle into a concrete guard rail. The car is now totaled and we were without sufficient insurance to replace the vehicle.
The right front lower control arm broke during driving. The car body collapsed on the front right side and it was extremely difficult to maneuver the vehicle to safety. The 2006 honda cr-v was recalled for the exact same issue! Please be wary, there is a possible manufacturer defect here.
While stopped at a traffic light, the contact attempted to accelerate and the vehicle suddenly stalled. The failure caused a crash involving two other vehicles. There was a police report filed. There were no injuries.
The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who stated that some of the transmission parts were corroded. Honda didn't inform the consumer of the recall. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for months with a complaint of difficulty shifting.
Consumer states while vehicle was parked and without any indication it rolled backwards. The mechanic informed the consumer the shift cable was dirty which may have caused the vehicle to roll.
