What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The contact stated that while driving with cruise control activated, the vehicle lost motive power and failed to accelerate properly. Additionally, the engine vibrated abnormally, smoke emanated from under the hood, the message "Reduced Speed" was displayed, and the check engine warning light illuminated.
We have had the car for 2 months and when I went out to start it the other day I noticed a large crack in the lower 1/3 of the windshield, starting at the edge/gasket of the passengers side and spreading horizontally all the way to the drivers side.
The vehicle experienced a catastrophic engine compartment fire while safely parked inside an employment parking garage in [XXX] on XXX, at approximately 3:04 PM. I was physically sitting inside the vehicle cabin when heavy smoke suddenly began pouring out from the engine bay.
Cars will STALL at low speeds and sometimes ENGINE LIGHT goes on. Cars will suddenly not accelerate after stopping at a stop sign. Extreme danger for our drivers who are transporting developmentally disabled clients to outings and shopping, etc.
The car has an annoying picture of a coffee cup and tells me to consider taking a break followed by annoying beeps. This announcement happens every 5-10 minutes on the expressway regardless of who drives the car and if they are staying in the lanes.
I received two emails from Hyundai Bluelink that "Vehicle battery level is below normal" late night 16 March 2024 shortly before midnight and several hours after I had parked my vehicle for the night. The car is less than two weeks old with less than 300 miles.
