What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
Then the check engine light cam on and immediately started to flash and before I could get to the side of the road the engine just shut off.
The contact stated that while driving and coming to a stop light or stop sign, the automatic stop start caused the vehicle when stopped and light or stop sign, the vehicle stalled. The issue also occurred while driving on a roadway, the vehicle stalled when stopped.
This issue creates risk of overheating, engine damage, and possible loss of power while driving. I believe additional affected VINs may not have been included because my vehicle is now showing the same known failure symptoms despite not being covered.
Vehicle Information 2020 Jaguar E-PACE VIN: [XXX] Approx. mileage: 84,000 Component Affected: Powertrain / Cooling System / Engine Complaint Description: My 2020 Jaguar E-PACE began showing coolant-related warnings and mechanical issues around 60,000 miles.
When coming to a stop the or even when trying to pull out the vehicle will shut off and you have to turn the car off to restart it and then switch back to drive and then the vehicle will go but it may turn off again if coming to a stop.
At around 84,000 miles, the vehicle experienced a complete transmission failure that requires over $20,000 in repairs. This failure occurred despite multiple prior visits to the dealership for coolant-related warnings and repairs. The vehicle is less than 5 years old.
